Pro Cycling Manager 2017 is the latests instalment in Cyanide's series of popular bicycle racing simulators. Take an established team to victory, start as a new cyclist or compete against friends online.
Pro Cycling Manager 2017 tasks players with leading their team of cyclists to victory through clever management. The game, as with previous releases, focuses on two separate gameplay elements: the main part of the game consists of tables and statistics, planning schedules and practices for cyclists while games are either automatically completed or played out in real time. With an intense level of detail and little in the way of hand-holding, players starting with Pro Cycling Manager 2017 may initially feel overwhelmed. Most of the game is spent comparing statistics and graphs, requiring a level of focus and consideration not common to all video games. Beyond personal preferences, technical issues are common throughout the game. Crashes are constant, cyclists glitch and multiplayer is nearly impossible to connect to. As these problems were frequent in previous instalments, it seems the developers are more focused on regular releases than improvements.
Pro Cycling Manager 2017 appears to be little more than a reskin of the 2016 edition. Voice lines, UI elements and, worst of all, crashes are unique in both versions. Considering the developer's apparent inability to apply fixes, it is difficult to recommend the game.
